Manufacturing Times

Current estimated manufacturing times:

NEW ZEALAND MANUFACTURE

5 working days for New Zealand manufactured 5 DAY ROLLER, 5 DAY FAUX WOOD VENETIAN and 5 DAY HONEYCOMB blinds

7-8 working days for New Zealand manufactured ROLLER & FAUXWOOD venetians

15 working days for New Zealand manufactured VERTICAL & ALUMINIUM venetians

Please note: working days exclude weekends, public holidays and factory closure periods such as Christmas 2024/25 factory closures are 19 December until 6 January. The good news is that by ordering over the holiday period we will be processing orders and you will secure your place in the production schedule upon the factory’s return.

IMPORTED

** see below – 35-50 working days for imported HONEYCOMB, FAUX WOOD, ALUMINIUM and PHOENIXWOOD blinds

** see below – 50-60 working days for imported SHUTTERS

** IMPORTED Chinese New Year.  The factory closes 25 January and re-opens on the 2 February (factory cut-off times are around 10-14 days prior to this, depending on the product type).  This unfortunately means that orders placed after the 13th of January will take longer to get here than usual as it takes the factory a while to catch up on manufacturing after the 1-week annual closure.  Generally, there is 3-4 weeks added to manufacturing times when they return to work.  Shipping is also disrupted as this holiday affects the entire country and everyone scrambles to get containers out in a hurry when everything is back up and running.  We expect shipping to take 1-3 weeks longer than usual in the 6 weeks following CNY.

How to Clean Your Blinds this Summer

Looking for the best ways to clean and refresh your roller blinds this summer? Below, we cover easy cleaning solutions for spot cleaning, fabric cleaning, and stain removal. Explore our two simple, straightforward methods below and have your blinds looking as good as new again!

How to Clean Roller Blinds: Vacuum & Wipe Method

If removing minor dust and debris from your blinds is your main concern, then you can use a vacuum and wipe cloth to clean them. This method is perfect for regular maintenance and requires only a damp cloth and a vacuum with a brush attachment.

Step 1: Fully extend your roller blinds

Before you start cleaning, fully extend your roller blinds so that no crease or corner is left amiss. There is no need to remove the blind from its brackets; it can be cleaned while hanging.

Step 2: Vacuum the surface on both sides

Using a vacuum with a brush head attachment, vacuum the surface of both sides of the blind to ensure that no dust, dirt, or cobwebs remain.

Step 3: Wipe away any remaining dirt

Using a damp cloth, wipe away any remaining dirt from the surface of the blind. If the blind material is a pale pastel, cream, or white, avoid using coloured cloths that may leave coloured fibres behind. If any spots are tough to remove, then you can use a bucket of soapy water to dunk your cloth into, before wringing it thoroughly and wiping the marks away.

Step 4: Allow blinds to dry

If your blinds are wet, allow them time to fully dry while hanging before retracting them again. If you wash them on a lovely hot, summer day, you shouldn’t have too long to wait¾and will probably appreciate the cool shade the blinds offer!

How to Clean Roller Blinds: Deep Cleaning

If your blinds have stubborn stains that just won’t budge, then a deep clean may be just what they need! To deep clean more difficult stains and marks, you will need the following: a bathtub, a showerhead, a non-abrasive cloth, solvent-free detergent (mild), and a drying rack.

Step 1: Remove your blinds from the bracket

At the pin end of the blind, you will notice a serrated wheel. While supporting the blind with one hand, turn this wheel anti-clockwise to make the pin retract into the tube so that you can remove the blind. If you’re having any difficulty with this, contact your supplier for further instructions. If we are your supplier, we’ll be more than happy to help you.

Step 2: Soak your blinds in warm soapy water

Place your loosely unravelled roller blinds in a bathtub filled with warm soapy water and leave them to soak. We recommend using a mild detergent or laundry powder.

Step 3: After one hour, check your blinds for stains

After one hour, examine your blinds on both sides, if there are any prominent stains still there, you can spot clean them with a cloth or sponge. If there are any particularly tough stains, then you can use a fabric stain remover or baking soda to get rid of them. Please note, if you’re worried about affecting the colour of your roller blinds, it may be better to rely on the experts to remove tough stains.

Step 4: Rinse the blind

After leaving the blind to soak for 1-3 hours, drain the soapy water and rinse the blind thoroughly with the showerhead, until no soap remains.

Step 5: Allow blinds to fully dry

At this point, you are nearly done! The last step is to lay your blinds out over a clothing rack, fully extended to dry in the sun. Allow them to completely dry before rehanging them and appreciating their crisp, cleanness!
