Both sizes provide excellent insulation. The 25mm cell sits closer to the glass with a slimmer profile, making it ideal for smaller windows or where you want a discreet look. The 45mm cell has a slightly larger air pocket. The thermal performance difference is minimal — choose based on the look you prefer.

Honeycomb Blinds, also known as Thermacell,  are an attractive cellular blind that are renowned for their insulation properties. They can increase the thermal insulation of your window by up to 3 times that of a normal curtain. Options include corded (the most cost effective option),  cordless (SmartRise) perfect for those with young children and  top down bottom up SmartRise (the ultimate) are all very popular.

Room Darkening – this is great for darkening and warming the bedrooms or older single glazed homes. The blind has a blackout coating (mylar) to ensure that they really do darken a room. Mylar is a stretched polyester film and is commonly used in products such as space blankets, protective plastic coatings and insulators, because of its proven thermal and insulting properties. Room darkening blinds has the highest thermal efficiency of all the fabric types. With standard factory clearances there is a 6.0mm gap between the jamb and the fabric on each side so some light bleed does occur at the side of the blind.
