Overview
Room-darkening honeycomb skylight blinds — the blackout version of the Smartfit Sloped system for angled and flat roof windows. The mylar-coated 25mm cells block most incoming light while the honeycomb structure insulates against heat gain and loss through the skylight.
Skylights are one of the biggest sources of heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer. This room-darkening version blocks light for bedrooms, nurseries and upstairs living spaces; for living areas where you only want glare control, see the light-filtering skylight blind.
Key features
Smartfit Sloped tensioned system for windows angled between 0° and 90°. Room-darkening mylar-coated 25mm honeycomb fabric — blocks the majority of light. Top rail fixed, bottom rail adjustable — no cords or chains. Maximum width 1,500mm, maximum height 3,000mm. Optional high-access pole (extends to 3m) for skylights out of reach.

Have a question about Honeycomb Blinds?
Yes. Room-darkening skylight honeycomb blinds use a mylar blackout coating to block the majority of incoming light. With a 6mm factory clearance on each side, some minimal light bleed occurs at the edges, but these are the darkest option available for skylights.
Yes. Skylights are a significant source of heat gain in summer and heat loss in winter. Honeycomb skylight blinds trap an insulating air pocket at the glass, reducing thermal transfer. The room-darkening version with mylar coating provides the highest thermal efficiency.
The bottom rail slides up and down on tension wires. For skylights within reach, adjust by hand. For higher skylights, an optional high-access pole lets you raise and lower the blind from floor level.
Honeycomb Blinds, also known as Thermacell, are an attractive cellular blind that are renowned for their insulation properties. They can increase the thermal insulation of your window by up to 3 times that of a normal curtain. Our most popular is the Room Darkening Fabric – this is great for darkening and warming the bedrooms or older single glazed homes.
Other Honeycomb options include corded (the most cost effective option), cordless (SmartRise) perfect for those with young children and top down bottom up SmartRise (the ultimate) are all very popular.
High Access Pole
This pole is available to assist with lifting and lowering the blind when it is out of reach for operation by hand. It is used for either SmartFit Sloped, SmartFit Standard or Smartrise.
It is an 1200mm extendable pole with a maximum extended length of 3 metres.
The head of the pole can be rotated to ensure it can be slipped on to the handle of the SmartFit or Smartrise blind
without pulling the handle to an angle where it alters the angle of rail in relation to the side wires on the blind.
The universal pole is suitable, and able to be used, on all blinds supplied with the clear PVC handles.
