Overview
The LightGuard 360 is the closest thing to total darkness you can achieve with a roller blind. Side tracks with black bristle seals eliminate the light gaps that standard blackout (blockout) rollers leave around the edges, top and bottom — delivering true room darkening for light-sensitive sleepers.

Standard blackout blinds use blackout fabric but light still leaks around the sides, top and bottom. The LightGuard 360 adds aluminium side guide channels that seal the fabric edges against the window frame, blocking light from every direction for near-total darkness.
Yes. The LightGuard 360 is one of the best nursery blind options available. It provides near-total darkness for daytime naps and is fully cordless with a spring-assisted mechanism, meeting child safety standards.
The LightGuard 360 is specifically designed for situations requiring darkness during daylight hours. The side channels block the light gaps that make standard blackout blinds ineffective for daytime sleeping.
The LightGuard 360 installs inside the window frame. The side channels screw into the frame sides, and the blind cassette mounts at the top. NZ Blinds provides detailed installation instructions.
Blackout blinds with side tracks use aluminium channels screwed to the window frame sides. The blind fabric runs inside these channels, sealed with bristle strips that block light from leaking around the edges. The LightGuard 360 is NZ Blinds’ side-track blackout system.
Blinds ordered at separate times may not colour match perfectly. We strongly recommend that all blinds for one room are ordered at the same time.
Blinds between 6sqm & 8sqm are more difficult to operate. They may be hard to lift & lower for users who are not physically strong. Roller tube deflection & fabric bagging may also be an issue.
Blinds over 8sqm are not within warranty. The tube will deflect and the fabric will bag. We recommend using a Link Bracket.
Mechanisms & Brackets– The standard mechanism is UNIFLEX in White, Black, Cream and Grey.
Bottom rails – Standard is for Dual Bottom rail with either the Curved or Flat side on the front of the blind. Dual Rail Colours are White, Black, Cream & Anodised.
Chains – Standard chains are Continuous Plastic Chains in either White, Black, Cream or Grey. Stainless Steel is available which attracts a surcharge.
