Manufacturing Times

Current estimated manufacturing times:

NEW ZEALAND MANUFACTURE

5 working days for New Zealand manufactured 5 DAY ROLLER, 5 DAY FAUX WOOD VENETIAN and 5 DAY HONEYCOMB blinds

7-8 working days for New Zealand manufactured ROLLER & FAUXWOOD venetians

15 working days for New Zealand manufactured VERTICAL & ALUMINIUM venetians

Please note: working days exclude weekends, public holidays and factory closure periods such as Christmas 2024/25 factory closures are 19 December until 6 January. The good news is that by ordering over the holiday period we will be processing orders and you will secure your place in the production schedule upon the factory’s return.

IMPORTED

** see below – 35-50 working days for imported HONEYCOMB, FAUX WOOD, ALUMINIUM and PHOENIXWOOD blinds

** see below – 50-60 working days for imported SHUTTERS

** IMPORTED Chinese New Year.  The factory closes 25 January and re-opens on the 2 February (factory cut-off times are around 10-14 days prior to this, depending on the product type).  This unfortunately means that orders placed after the 13th of January will take longer to get here than usual as it takes the factory a while to catch up on manufacturing after the 1-week annual closure.  Generally, there is 3-4 weeks added to manufacturing times when they return to work.  Shipping is also disrupted as this holiday affects the entire country and everyone scrambles to get containers out in a hurry when everything is back up and running.  We expect shipping to take 1-3 weeks longer than usual in the 6 weeks following CNY.

The Best Blinds for Bay Windows

If your home has bay windows, you may be wondering what the best window covering option are for these unique and sometimes tricky angular spaces. While bay windows are excellent at providing your home with abundant natural light and an extensive outdoor view, you need window treatments that dress your bay windows well, and at the same time protect your family’s privacy. Here, we discuss different blind options that work great with bay windows. From honeycomb blinds down to roller blinds, we’ll walk you through every option you need to know when it comes to dressing them the right way.

Venetian Blinds

One of the most popular blind options for bay windows is Venetian blinds. They’re designed with slat sizes as thin as 15mm to 25mm. Because they have a small profile, they are a suitable option for bay windows as they can free up space on your windowsill and help create depth for more expansive windows. Venetian blinds also provide excellent light and privacy control. They feature controls on either the left or right side, which gives more versatility when controlling them how much light you want to enter. Venetian blinds come in different variations:

  • Aluminium Venetian Blinds – Aluminium Venetian blinds work excellently in rooms or living areas that have higher temperatures. Their curved slats and reflective metal material help reflect UV rays and protect you and your furniture from harsh light and heat.
  • Wood Venetian Blinds – While Aluminium Venetian blinds are more contemporary in design, wooden Venetian blinds work well in providing your space achieve a more natural look or a boho-chic design.
  • Faux Wood Venetian Blinds – You can get the look of genuine wood for your bay windows without the upkeep of real wood blinds. Faux wood blinds are the more sustainable option for bay windows situated in damp or humid spaces such as your bathroom or kitchen.

Roller Blinds

As one of the most versatile blind options, roller blinds are a great fit for nearly any window. These blinds can accommodate angled bay windows, as you can mount individual blinds to each pane of glass. Aside from offering excellent light and privacy control, roller blinds also come in many fabrics, colours, patterns, and textures. Roller blinds give you the freedom to style your space however you want to. Plus, roller blinds come in blackout, sunscreen, and thermal styles, which protect your home and are great when it comes to energy savings too.

Shutters

Shutters are ideal for bay windows that are designed with a column separating the panes of glass. Shutters have slats that are joined together in a wooden or aluminium frame, and since their slats can be tilted 180 degrees, they allow maximum light and privacy control. Shutters are great options because they’re low maintenance, stylish, and have easy-to-clean, wipeable slats. Plus, you can use shutters for both living and wet areas such as bathrooms.

Honeycomb Blinds

Honeycomb blinds are also an excellent choice for angular bay windows or awkward windows. They feature a wide array of colours that will suit many home interiors. Honeycomb blinds feature temperature control capabilities—they can help trap cool air in the summer and warm air in the winter, making them ideal for bay areas that allow more light and heat to enter your space.
