Have a question about Wooden Blinds?
Our wooden blinds are built from Phoenixwood. Also known as Paulownia, this lightweight timbre features a prominent, natural grain. Its physical properties make it among the highest-performing materials for strength-to-weight ratios across wooden and non-wooden blinds.
Phoenixwood undergoes a meticulous treatment process, beginning with kiln drying and prescriptive conditioning. Once quarter sawn to highlight the depth and character of the grain, the final sanding and coating process yields a premium furniture finish.
Faux wood Venetian blinds are more durable in heat and moisture-prone environments, making them suitable for areas where wooden blinds are not. It is also recommended to clean wooden blinds with dry methods, whereas faux wood blinds can be deep cleaned in a bath as well.
Phoenixwood Venetian blinds add a sophisticated touch to indoor living spaces without drawing attention to themselves. They also feature a SmartPrivacy® patent that positions the route holes at the back of the slats instead of the middle. This reduces light leakage and improves privacy. Our wooden blinds also use the latest PVC headrail to eliminate the need for a separate valance.
Wooden blinds are most suitable for areas not exposed to regular or high humidity, such as kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry rooms. We recommend installing wooden blinds in bedrooms or lounge spaces.
The first step to prolonging your wooden blinds’ lifespan is installing them in the most appropriate environment. Once set up, avoid introducing steam or moisture from external sources such as humidifiers.
Wooden blinds are a popular choice for introducing a subtle layer of luxury to an indoor living space. Choosing the optimal colour is important and will depend on the design and aesthetic choices of the room where you plan to install your wooden Venetian blinds.
Choose a colour that provides some contrast between lighter and darker shades of brown and white. As a key component of the negative space in each room, blinds can enhance the aura of a space through thoughtful colour selection.
Dry methods such as dusters, soft cloths, or the brush attachment on a vacuum are most suitable for cleaning wooden blinds. Wet applications with cloths or wipes may damage or warp the slats over time. Consider using a gentle furniture polish or wooden cleaning agent to keep your wooden blinds pristine.
