Manufacturing Times

Current estimated manufacturing times:

NEW ZEALAND MANUFACTURE

5 working days for New Zealand manufactured 5 DAY ROLLER, 5 DAY FAUX WOOD VENETIAN and 5 DAY HONEYCOMB blinds

7-8 working days for New Zealand manufactured ROLLER & FAUXWOOD venetians

15 working days for New Zealand manufactured VERTICAL & ALUMINIUM venetians

Please note: working days exclude weekends, public holidays and factory closure periods such as Christmas 2024/25 factory closures are 19 December until 6 January. The good news is that by ordering over the holiday period we will be processing orders and you will secure your place in the production schedule upon the factory’s return.

IMPORTED

** see below – 35-50 working days for imported HONEYCOMB, FAUX WOOD, ALUMINIUM and PHOENIXWOOD blinds

** see below – 50-60 working days for imported SHUTTERS

** IMPORTED Chinese New Year.  The factory closes 25 January and re-opens on the 2 February (factory cut-off times are around 10-14 days prior to this, depending on the product type).  This unfortunately means that orders placed after the 13th of January will take longer to get here than usual as it takes the factory a while to catch up on manufacturing after the 1-week annual closure.  Generally, there is 3-4 weeks added to manufacturing times when they return to work.  Shipping is also disrupted as this holiday affects the entire country and everyone scrambles to get containers out in a hurry when everything is back up and running.  We expect shipping to take 1-3 weeks longer than usual in the 6 weeks following CNY.

Blind Style Guide: Window Blind Trends for 2022

Spending time within our own homes has never been more in style, or necessary. With more time within four walls, it’s time to revamp indoor décor, bringing comfort and style back into the spaces previously overlooked. Blinds are not only an important functional part of our interiors, but the right blind style can also be a centrepiece or provide the perfect compliment in an overall look.

If you want to add stylish functionality to your home this year, we’ve compiled a handy Blind Style Guide to get you ahead of the curve with some of the most exciting window blind trends we’re looking forward to in 2022.

Choosing the Best Blind Styles to Suit You

Blinds come in many shapes, sizes, colours and functions. From blackout blinds to sunscreen roller blinds fabrics to wooden Venetians and honeycomb blinds, knowing what you want to achieve for your home interior will set you on the right path to tracking down the best blinds New Zealand has to offer.

Picking your perfect blind needs thought surrounding the function and fit of your window treatments. Blinds for a home office might need special light filters for zoom calls, and kids’ playrooms might mean steering clear of wooden slats that might trap little fingers. While style plays a large part, you don’t need to be flying blind and know your Venetians from your roller shades.

Roller Blinds and Light Filters

Roller blinds are a mainstay in blind trends for 2022. They’re versatile and easily customisable, offering you the chance to get creative with your window treatments.

If you want a blind that can do it all, double roller blinds can include blackout fabric, so you can choose the level of light to welcome into the space.

Venetian Blinds

Venetian blinds are the casual cousin of the window shutter. Often with horizontal slats and a pulley system, Venetians are adaptable, coming in a range of materials to suit your style, slipping, and folding to let light in or keep prying eyes away.

Vertical Blinds

Vertical blinds are having somewhat of a style renaissance in 2022. Slipping out of sight for a little while, they’re creeping back as large windows and doors welcome indoor/outdoor flow that needs longer window treatments to match. From graceful white shades to soft earthy textures, vertical blinds can add spaciousness that doesn’t cramp your window frames.

Blind Trends That Are Catching Our Eye In 2022

Now you know your sunscreen roller from your vertical blinds it’s time to get trendsetting. Fashions come and go like night and day, and it’s no different when it comes to blind styles. While the tried and tested minimalist, neutral tones look like they’re here to stay, 2022 is a tale of opposites, with window blind trends bringing brightness and fun, while a call to nature sings of calming tones and textures.

Pop Out with Bold but Bare Brights

It pays not to be colour blind when it comes to picking a hue to frame your interiors. With companies such as Pantone picking the audacious Very Peri as the colour of 2021, style guides are predicting a continuation of hopping bright colours fuelling style appetites in 2022. Think bold reds, deep emerald greens and bolts of blue-tinted roller blinds creating staunch statements.

Invite the Outside In

While we may be cooped up inside, it doesn’t mean we can’t bring a little nature in with us. 2022 is set to see earthy tones of brown and green, with wood-grain textures cropping up. While sunscreen roller blinds might block out pesky sun flares, you can still invite a sense of warmth and cosiness with stylish nature-inspired hues and textures.

Pretty as a Picture Printed Blinds

Printed blinds are a bold statement and 2022 is all about confidence. Choose your favourite pattern or picture and get the local blind manufacturer to print it directly onto your chosen roller blinds. Meld two trends together by picking a landscape or go green with plant prints to add a tropical feel to the winter nights.

Minimalism Is Here to Stay

Another style trend set to stay through 2022 is the ever-present minimalist. Luckily, whether it’s a roller blind or a Venetian, window treatments lend themselves to the adage of keeping it simple. Think block beiges with subtle frames, or clean white vertical blinds to open space and lightness to your interiors.

Style your way with quality and customisable blinds

Whether you want double roller blinds or a classic Venetian, you have choices with your trends in 2022. Go earthy brown or bring in the brightness, it’s up to you. Find the style you’re looking for at the right fit with made to order blinds and window treatments on NZ Blinds.
