Manufacturing Times

Current estimated manufacturing times:

NEW ZEALAND MANUFACTURE

5 working days for New Zealand manufactured 5 DAY ROLLER, 5 DAY FAUX WOOD VENETIAN and 5 DAY HONEYCOMB blinds

7-8 working days for New Zealand manufactured ROLLER & FAUXWOOD venetians

15 working days for New Zealand manufactured VERTICAL & ALUMINIUM venetians

Please note: working days exclude weekends, public holidays and factory closure periods such as Christmas 2024/25 factory closures are 19 December until 6 January. The good news is that by ordering over the holiday period we will be processing orders and you will secure your place in the production schedule upon the factory’s return.

IMPORTED

** see below – 35-50 working days for imported HONEYCOMB, FAUX WOOD, ALUMINIUM and PHOENIXWOOD blinds

** see below – 50-60 working days for imported SHUTTERS

** IMPORTED Chinese New Year.  The factory closes 25 January and re-opens on the 2 February (factory cut-off times are around 10-14 days prior to this, depending on the product type).  This unfortunately means that orders placed after the 13th of January will take longer to get here than usual as it takes the factory a while to catch up on manufacturing after the 1-week annual closure.  Generally, there is 3-4 weeks added to manufacturing times when they return to work.  Shipping is also disrupted as this holiday affects the entire country and everyone scrambles to get containers out in a hurry when everything is back up and running.  We expect shipping to take 1-3 weeks longer than usual in the 6 weeks following CNY.

Dark and Dusty? Create Better Lighting for Dark Rooms!

While a space that’s devoid of light, may indeed be conducive for a good night’s rest, hanging out in a dark and dusty room 24 hours of the day isn’t the most ideal. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to transform dim and dark spaces into brighter and more uplifting areas during the day, and many of them don’t require much work! Sometimes, just a little tweak in your interior design choices can help you achieve a more ideal amount of light. It could be as simple as adding roller blinds or placing mirrors near light sources. Below are some of our favourite hacks to let light shine through into darker areas of your home!

Opt for light colour schemes

An easy way to make your space lighter and brighter is to switch up your colour scheme. Think light, white, and neutral shades. This way, your walls can reflect more light into the room. You can also try replacing your black curtains with white wooden Venetian blinds. They can provide excellent illumination during the day and are easy on the eyes even when they’re rolled down at night!

If you’re not ready to give up your dark or moody colour palette, why not incorporate some lighter shades into your décor instead? From pillows and wall art down to your rug, there are many ways to add a bit of lightness to your room.

Utilise reflective surfaces

Adding reflective surfaces to your space can play to your advantage when you want to brighten up a room. Adding glimmering items such as acrylic accents and translucent furniture can do just the trick! You can also try incorporating mirrored surfaces, such as using a reflective table or vases. See for yourself the wonders these can do for your sacred space!

Place mirrors opposite light sources

Using mirrors may be the oldest trick in the book, but it’s one that never really fails! Strategically placing your mirrors across from windows can expand the visual space and brighten a dark room. Placing them near light sources—such as beside a floor lamp—can also provide the same effect.

Add an ambient light source

Does your room lack windows? Touches of ambient light can help you achieve the perfect level of lighting without overdoing it. Consider adding strip lights to highlight your bookshelf, or large lamps in the corner of the room. Surround your room with ambient lights to effortlessly set the mood and make your room glow.

Wipe windows clean

Sometimes, all you need for a brighter room is some deep cleaning. Start with your windows! Glass windows that are dirty, dusty, smudged, and stained can limit visibility much more than you’d expect. You’ll be surprised by how much more natural light can enter by just cleaning them up.

Invest in a functional window treatment

You need to choose efficient window treatments that can give your room an ample amount of natural light, as well as provide you with privacy and great light control throughout the day. Make sure to choose window treatments that are as functional as they are aesthetically pleasing.
