Description

Faux Wood Venetian Blinds 50mm — NZ Made

Overview

NZ-made faux wood venetian blinds with 50mm CPC (co-polymer composite) slats — a locally manufactured option with a realistic wood-grain finish and full waterproofing. The CPC construction combines the visual warmth of timber with complete moisture resistance.

Every NZ-made faux wood venetian is custom-made to your window measurements — PVC venetian blinds with a premium wood-grain texture and faster local turnaround.

Key features

Unlike plain PVC, the wood-grain textured surface closely replicates the look and feel of painted basswood. Compressed polystyrene slats are strong and stable, suitable for bathrooms, kitchens and laundries. Manufactured in New Zealand for a precise fit and faster turnaround.

Specifications

50mm compressed polystyrene CPC slats with wood-grain texture. Manufactured in New Zealand. Strong, stable and fully waterproof. Suitable for wet and high-humidity areas.

Note: Venetian blinds are privacy screens and are not designed to be kept in the lifted position. The full raised position is for cleaning the window or accessing the window latches behind it. The blinds are also designed to sit on the bottom sill, so these are sitting as they were designed. Venetian blinds are to be kept down at all times and only tilted open and closed.

How to order

Measure your window, select your colour, and order online. NZ-made production means faster turnaround. Custom-made and delivered throughout New Zealand.

Have a question about Venetian Blinds?

CPC stands for co-polymer composite — a blend of polymers engineered for venetian blind slats. It is denser and more rigid than standard PVC, which means the slats hold their shape better over time. The wood-grain texture is moulded directly into the material.

NZ-made faux wood blinds offer faster delivery (2–3 weeks vs 3–4 for imports) and the NZ-made CPC material has a more realistic wood-grain finish. The trade-off is a higher price point.

The NZ-made CPC range is currently available in corded operation only. For cordless faux wood blinds, NZ Blinds offers an imported 50mm and 63mm cordless range at a lower price point.

Minimum Width (mm) 250 – Maximum 2700

Maximum Drop (mm) 3000
The slats are a PVC slat.  They are 2.75mm thick.
The Bottom Rail is Trapezoid in shape. This Trapezoid bottom rail is hollow and therefore this makes the Smooth Slat blind lighter than the embossed/woodgrain faux wood blinds.
When in a closed position for an inside mount the Bottom Rail will just sit just off the bottom sill minimizing the light gap
but still allowing for full tilt rotation of the slat.
When in an open position the Bottom Rail will sit approximately 14mm off the bottom sill. This is a necessary distance
which allows for the full tilt function rotation and closure of the blind.
If Hold-down brackets are requested the bottom rail will be trimmed shorter with a Hold Down Pin inserted.
Hold Down colours are Silver and Bronze.

Tassels are a smooth plastic finish in colours which co-ordinate with the blind.

PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) is a highly practical, cost-effective, and robust material that is excellent for high-moisture areas like kitchens and bathrooms. It provides good insulation and is easy to clean.

CPC (Compressed Polystyrene Composite) offers the same moisture resistance and durability benefits of PVC but is a more advanced, lighter-weight alternative that better replicates the look of real wood, often with superior fade resistance properties.
