Whilst the material does provide some insulation for your home, it’s unlikely that they will be able to insulate one room by themselves.

Thermal blinds improve heat retention by providing an additional layer of insulation for a room’s windows. Air becomes trapped to maintain the desired room temperature. Conversely, by blocking the sun, our thermal blinds also keep excess heat out during the sunnier months.
Thermal blinds tend to be heavier and thicker due to the additional coating applied to the 100% polyester blind. The foamed flocked acrylic backing provides the blinds with thermal properties that help regulate temperature for every season.
Our thermal blinds – the Blackout Urban Shade Roller and Blackout Palm Beach Roller – are designed for bedrooms and living rooms. We recommend installing them in these areas for optimal efficiency.
Thermal blinds have temperature regulation benefits all year round in New Zealand. Heat is trapped during the colder months around winter, while sunlight is reflected away in summer and the warmer seasons.
Our thermal blinds also function as blackout blinds. In addition to keeping rooms warm, they will block light for enhanced privacy in your indoor living spaces.
Our thermal blinds are best cleaned with a microfibre duster or soft cloth to eliminate excess dust accumulation. Once most dust has been removed, use a damp cloth to target any dirty areas.
