Have a question about Honeycomb Blinds?
Honeycomb blinds, also known as thermacell or cellular blinds, are composed of hexagonal chambers stacked together to create a unique structure. These blinds create a barrier for thermal insulation, trapping heat up to three times more efficiently than standard curtains.
Honeycomb blinds offer added visual intrigue at a glance to an indoor living space. Light-filtering honeycomb shades diffuse light from outside without darkening the room. Room darkening shades use mylar to block light and enhance thermal efficiency, making them a good fit for bedrooms.
Honeycomb blinds are compatible with regular windows, sloped skylights, and sliding doors.
We offer three options for honeycomb blind controls: corded, cordless Smartrise, and top-down, bottom-up SmartRise. Among these options, different levels of light filtering and room darkening are available. We also offer vertical honeycomb blinds for sliding doors and windows.
CORDED – Blind is controlled by cord either on the left or right
TDBU – top down bottom up – Blind can be raised from the bottom or lowered from the top. The blanket is supported by strings
CORDLESS SMARTRISE – Blind is raised and lowered without cords
Top-down bottom-up (TDBU) blinds offer greater privacy control than regular blinds. They can be raised from the bottom and lowered from the top to choose exact height levels and window exposure. The bottom rail hangs freely by cords.
Our room-darkening honeycomb blinds use mylar as a blackout coating. Mylar is a high-tensile polyester film stretched over the blinds to improve thermal efficiency. It can also be found in food packaging, insulators, and space blankets.
A duster, microfibre cloth, or vacuum brush attachment are all suitable for targeting the exterior surfaces during your regular cleaning routine. Honeycomb blinds can also be cleaned using a damp cloth with warm water and detergent or mixing one part water with one part vinegar.
For the interior cells, use compressed air to remove dust or bugs.
